Stop Gate Stop Valves

Stop Valves Y Type Stop Valve
Just a sliding grate is used to block the entry of a castle, a gate Stop Valves stems the flow of liquids by lowering a solid plate into its interior passageway. Conventional gate valves open and close with simple, hand-operated knobs. The simple rhyme, “righty tighty, lefty loosey,” reminds you of how to operate all types of valves. However, homeowners sometimes unwittingly damage gate valves with excessive tightening. An overview of standard gate valve operation helps you shut off your water when necessary and extend your valve’s life.
1 Turn the water on to the house at the city shut-off valve. Study the Brass Gate Valve. If the circular valve handle cannot be turned counter-clockwise anymore, the valve is fully open, and water is passing through the valve to the various household water fixtures.
2 Check the water and ensure it is passing through the valve by turning on faucets or other water appliances. Note if the water proceeds at standard pressure.
3 Slowly turn the circular gate valve handle clockwise, until it is tight and cannot be turned anymore. When tight, do not force the handle closed. The wedge-shaped gate in the center of the valve has fully moved across the water flow path, stopping water from entering the household pipes.
4 Open a faucet to check that the valve is closed. If closed, only a trickle of water may escape from the faucet, before all water ceases.
5 Turn the faucet off.
6 Go back to the gate Brass Valves and move its handle counter-clockwise, until it cannot be moved anymore. The valve is now fully open again, with water flowing through the pipe to the various water fixtures. Turn on a faucet to check that the water pressure in the pipeline is back to normal pressure.
